Due to popular demand, the world premiere of Neil LaBute’s new play Reasons to Be Happy has extended its limited engagement through June 29. The MCC Theater production opens on June 11 and was originally scheduled to run at the Lucille Lortel Theatre through June 23.
Leslie Bibb, Jenna Fischer, Josh Hamilton and Fred Weller star in the follow-up to LaBute’s award-winning play Reasons to Be Pretty. Happy picks up on ex-couple Steph and Greg, who contemplate giving their relationship one more try. The catch is that Steph is newly married to someone else, and Greg is involved in a relationship with Steph’s best friend Carly (who herself is still in the eye of her jealous ex-husband Kent).
Directed by LaBute, Happy features set design by Neil Patel, costume design by Sarah Holden, lighting design by Ben Stanton and sound design by Robert Kaplowitz.
